Episode 14: The RRHOF

There tends to be a lot of high emotion and misunderstanding surrounding the fan vote for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but is it really THAT big of a deal? In this episode, Dave and Donna attempt to keep things real by discussing how the voting process works, how the band has fared in the past and The Cars’ likelihood of being inducted on their third nomination, and how the members themselves seem to feel about the whole shebang.

In the meantime, the fan vote is open until December 5th. Click here to go to the RRHOF website and cast your vote for our boys!

  1. Your dedication to Benjamin Orr is terrific! Ben represented the best of its kind. Ben’s voice, bass, demeanor and performances were like no other. Continuing to keep Ben’s music and memory amongst the living is very honorable. I wish he were here to enjoy your most beautiful blog site. Thank you!

      1. You are welcomed SPJ! You’re doing a fantastic job keeping Benjamin’s music and life in the present day! I have to think Benjamin would be very appreciative of your efforts to promote his legacy! And you seem to enjoy it as well!

  2. Of course The Cars deserve the induction! They contributed superb music! I am still so moved by their music! Thank you to The Cars for sharing their gifts with all of us!

  3. I’ve been casting my vote for The Cars almost everyday since voting opened so I hope with everyone’s help we will get that oh so important one fan ballot! Although at times I wonder how meaningful it is to be voted in when there are so many “iffy” members; I guess the other side of it is that you would also be among many geniuses so take the good with the bad.

  4. I too vote everyday because I love The Cars and especially Ben Orr but….I live in Ohio, the RRHOF sucks. That said, it still probably holds prestige to some and they should be in there for posterity. Also, Ben Orr lived within 25 miles of the RRHOF growing up so it would be nice to have a hometown boy get the win.

Bon Jovi…please, that they are winning proves my point about RRHOF.

  5. OK – I can’t believe what a moron I am! It was right in front of my face all along! I always just left the page once it said my vote had been processed. Anyway, I can’t believe how many votes Bon Jovi has. Sad state of affairs.
