It reminds me of him.

“‘We all know him to be a proud, unpleasant sort of man; but this would be nothing if you really liked him.’

‘I do, I do like him,’ she replied, with tears in her eyes, ‘I love him. Indeed he has no improper pride. He is perfectly amiable. You do not know what he really is; then pray do not pain me by speaking of him in such terms.'”

  1. Probably my favorite movie in the world (the version with Keira Knightly) and one of my all time fav books. I LOVE Jane Austen and have all her books. Once in a while I go on a Jane Austen bender and just re-read all her books and watch the movies. Matthew McFadyen is THE ONLY Mr. Darcy!!! And I think Keira and Rosamund Pike are the living embodiment of their characters. I cannot fathom another woman playing Lizzie.

    1. I love this book and movie, too — but I’m a staunch BBC watcher! I don’t know that I’ve ever even seen the Keira Knightly version; she could never surpass Jennifer Ehle. Haha! And as for Mr. Darcy? Colin Firth ALL the way! ❤ Of course, I also love Emma and Sense and Sensibility, and I'm sure you've seen those, too… but have you seen or read Persuasion? It is high on my list!
